New Facility Information RFIS is currently working on the construction of a new facility. Located approximately 8 kilometers from our current location, the new campus will accommodate approximately 150 students and is 6 ½ hectares (about 16 acres) in size. When completed the school will have ten regular classrooms, two science labs, an art room, a living skills classroom, a computer lab, a library-media center, an administration building, a large auditorium and music building, a full-size soccer field, a physical education practice field, a covered gym, field house (student gym lockers and showers), complete wood and industrial arts facilities, a student center, an aquatics center, and 4 tennis courts. Total cost to build the entire new facility is estimated to be $2,338,000.00 US dollars. We have completed Phase 1 (the purchase of the land), and Phase 2 (building the necessary infrastructure). We are beginning on Phase 3 (construction of essential buildings) which will allow us to actually move to the new facility. We would like to make the move in June-July of 2009. Phase 4 (completion of the campus) will be pursued as money becomes available. Some buildings, like the high school classroom block and auditorium, will not be built until after we move to the site and funds become available. We will be assigning some spaces for an initial use to make the move, and then ‘reallocating’ space as we grow, building what we need. So the upstairs of the library will start out as the auditorium, and when the auditorium is built, this space will be used for additional library shelves or classrooms. The school currently has enough funds to complete most of Phase 3. If you would like to participate in providing funds for the new facility please contact the Development Officer, Mr. Vince Griffis at:
